I’d like to take a moment to explain where I am coming from before I begin to write my blogs. I am and have been an active conservative Anglican for over 30 years now, and by what I mean by saying active, is this; I have been involved in the hierarchy of 3 churches in the last 15 years. I have been involved in the Lay Leadership which is about as high as you can go without being ordained, which means that I can do everything except sanctify the sacraments and hold full communion. I can however serve the blood of Christ during Communion, I cannot however serve the Body.
I have also been involved in the Parish Councils in 3 churches and may, and I say may become a Warden this year. I say may because I have yet to decide whether I will accept a nomination should it arise. I have also been a part of and have led numerous Bible Study Groups in which we read and discuss the Word of God, usually following the 3 year cycle of the Liturgical Calendar. At the beginning of 2017 we are now starting cycle year A. For those interested in researching the Liturgical Calendar I use, here is the link. http://lectionarypage.net/ .
As of this posting I have completed my first semester at Yale University Open On-Line in New Testament Biblical History, and am beginning my second semester which is the History of the Old Testament. Now I know that it is a bit out-of-order from between 3300 and 3500 years. I am by no means an expert in the field of Theology, nor am I a Philosopher, Prophet or Scholar. I am a man of faith who has studied the bible and continues to do so. The writings I will be producing are my thoughts in a modern day straight forward speech that I hope is easily understood and able to create some great discussions, so please feel free to join in …….
